Disney Cruise Line Fall 2024 Itineraries

Disney Cruise Line has released itineraries for the remainder of 2024 and start of 2025.
When you will be able to book, what are the itineraries? Keep on scrolling to read all about them.

First & foremost I am a little shocked not to see the Disney Treasure listed on these itineraries. The Disney Treasure is Disney’s 6th ship in their fleet & was originally scheduled to sail in 2024.
I would have to assume they don’t want to book the ship without being certain it will be ready to sail.

The number one question on everyone’s mind… When can I book?

Pearl, Platinum, Gold or Silver Castaway Club members can take advantage of the opportunity to book fall 2024 itineraries before they go on sale to the general public on June 26, 2023. Book either online or by phone during the designated booking window:

  • Monday, June 19, 2023: Pearl Members
  • Tuesday, June 20, 2023: Pearl and Platinum Members
  • Wednesday, June 21, 2023: Pearl, Platinum and Gold Members
  • Thursday, June 22, 2023: Pearl, Platinum, Gold and Silver Members
  • Monday, June 26, 2023: all Guests

Disney Cruise Line – early 2021 itineraries open to book in October

In early 2021, Disney Cruise Line will return to New Orleans for a limited-time engagement with sailings to the Bahamas and Caribbean, including visits to Disney’s private island paradise, Castaway Cay.
A lineup of popular itineraries will continue across the Disney fleet with cruises to tropical destinations from Texas, California and Florida.

Return to New Orleans

Back by popular demand, the Disney Wonder will return to the bayou from late January through February 2021 with a series of magical voyages. A pair of four- and five-night cruises to the Western Caribbean kick off the season from New Orleans. The five-night voyage includes a visit to Progreso, Mexico, a new port of call for Disney Cruise Line on the Yucatan Peninsula. This quaint town is filled with treasures for families to explore together, from ancient Mayan ruins to hidden swimming holes filled with crystal-clear water.

Three seven-night sailings to the Bahamas with a stop at Disney Castaway Cay, plus a 14-night Panama Canal cruise, round out the departures from the Crescent City in early 2021.

Guests sailing from New Orleans will experience the flavors and flair of the Big Easy both onboard the Disney Wonder and ashore. The sounds and sights of New Orleans come to life at Tiana’s Place restaurant, where families are transported to an era of southern charm, spirited jazz and street party celebrations with live music and other surprises inspired by the Disney animated film “The Princess and the Frog.” Before or after their cruise, your Clients can savor the city’s distinct cuisine, visit family-friendly museums and parks, and take in the sounds of world-renowned live jazz music.

Popular Itineraries from Texas and California

The Disney Wonder will also return to the popular home ports of Galveston and San Diego in early 2021. Guests sailing from Texas can enjoy the white-sand beaches of the Western Caribbean on a series of four- and six-night cruises to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. One seven-night departure will feature stops at Key West, Nassau and Disney Castaway Cay.

Following the season in New Orleans, the Disney Wonder heads to the West Coast for a variety of sailings to Baja and the Mexican Riviera departing from San Diego. Families can hunt for gold aboard a pirate ship in Cabo San Lucas, embark on an off-road adventure in Ensenada or sunbathe on glittering sand beaches on cruises ranging from three to seven nights.

Bahamian and Caribbean Getaways from Florida

Disney Cruise Line will have three ships sailing to the Bahamas and Caribbean from Florida in early 2021, and every cruise includes a day at Disney’s private island paradise, Castaway Cay. This award-winning destination, reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line Guests, is the ultimate escape for everyone in the family.

Fifth Disney Cruise Ship Named – Wish

Your wish is their command on every Disney Cruise Vacation. I find ‘wish’ to be an intriguing name to add to the current Disney fleet with the Disney Magic, Wonder, Dream & Fantasy. As you sail the high seas with luxurious service, surroundings & experiences you will have an unforgettable experience that will last a lifetime and the fifth Disney Cruise ship will be making wishes come true for many generations of families.

During the D23 Expo today, Bob Chapek was joined by Joe Rohde as he announced the name of the 5th Disney Cruise ship and also revealed a few details about the atrium and the iconic character that will adorn the ship’s stern.

The stern on the new ship will feature Rapunzel on the Disney Wish. Disney Parks Blog states ” Our favorite artsy princess, paintbrush in hand, uses her enchanted hair to suspend herself as she decorates the stern of the ship with the help of her feisty sidekick, Pascal. Spirited, smart, curious and above all, adventurous, Rapunzel embodies the wish and desire to see and experience the world. The stern on the new ship will feature Rapunzel on the Disney Wish.”

The ships atrium design is set to be bright, airy & elegant in true Disney fashion. The atrium has been inspired by the beauty of an enchanted fairytale.

Although the Disney wish is scheduled for delivery to Disney in late 2021, it will not set sail until January 2022. Two more ships will following the coming years and all of the new ships will be powered by liquefied natural gas and will be slightly larger than the Disney Dream & Fantasy at approx 144,000 gross tons with 1,250 guest staterooms.

Further details were revealed about Disney’s private beach that is currently a work in progress. As previously announced, the location is on Eleuthera in the Bahamas and Disney’s private beach will be called Lighthouse Point. Joe Rohde is also spearheading the development of Lighthouse point and has been busy touring the culture of The Bahamas with local artist & experts. Joe has stated that Disney Will be involved in conservation efforts to preserve and protect the environment and is working to create a destination that immerses guests in Bahamian culture and Disney magic.

After assessments are done and plans are reviewed, construction could begin in 2020 with completion in late 2022 or 2023.

In total three new ships will be joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet. There will be magic for everyone and I am sitting on the edge of my seat to hear any new details on the ships & the ports that they will visit.

Universal has stated that Epic Universe will offer an entirely new level of experiences that will forever redefine theme park entertainment. It will challenge guests to venture beyond their wildest imagination by traveling through stories & vibrant lands.

The new location will not only feature a theme park, but also include an entertainment center, hotels, shops, restaurants and more. Nothing has been announced about specific themes inside the park or any details on how the park tickets or hotels will be offered.

It appears that the new theme park will only be within driving distance from the current hotels & theme parks. I can only speculate that they will offer bus transportation from their resorts to the new theme park, but I can’t even begin to guess how they might handle transportation for guests who want to hop between all three theme parks in one day. The only thing I can guarantee is that I will be staying on top of the newest announcements so that I can help you plan your Epic Adventure.

Proximity map of Universal’s Epic Universe

When will the new theme park open? Will this theme park draw in more fans? What will the theme & attractions be like? How will transportation work? These are all questions that we are waiting to hear answers for. Stay tuned for more information on Universal’s upcoming them park, Epic Universe.

Don’t be Denied Boarding on your Cruise!

Make sure you are aware of everything you need to board your cruise and also be aware of the laws in the ports that might affect you.

Melissa and The Mouse by Pixie Dust Adventures

It happens all the time. Travelers are excited to get started on their relaxing cruise vacation, they arrive at the cruise terminal and they are denied boarding because they didn’t read the fine print before their departure. Maybe they are missing the proper documentation or didn’t even realize that they were in violation of one of the cruise line’s or even a port of call’s rules.

One way to avoid problems all together is to read through the cruise documentation that you are sent with your cruise confirmation. The terms & conditions always spell things out pretty clearly. If you still have any questions or concerns, contact your travel agent or the cruise line directly.

Top Reasons Travelers are Denied Boarding

Enzo’s Hideaway Lunch Review

After feasting our way through the holidays & being spoiled by all of the good food, we couldn’t just end our holiday week with McDonald’s. We had to have some gourmet, food at Walt Disney World. We chose to have lunch at Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar in Disney Springs. Contrary to the title, this family friendly atmosphere is stunning and tells an intriguing story that does not disappoint.

The story of this restaurant refers to Maria & Enzo’s Restaurante as well as The Edison in Disney Springs and it goes like this…

While inspecting the building prior to taking full ownership, Enzo discovered a long-hidden place below the terminal that connected to abandoned sections of the next-door power plant. To Enzo’s astonishment, he came across a Prohibition-era hideaway where a team of flying rum-runners once gathered. Evidence of smuggler activity remained, untouched for decades. Enzo decided that the space might make an irresistible spot for dining and socializing to highlight the family recipes he grew up on, highlighting specialties from Rome and nearby regions.

An Italian Restaurant & Speakeasy, this restaurant is a fun & novel place to dine in Disney Springs and I will definitely visit it again. Following it’s name & story line, it is a bit of a hidden gem that can be easy to get into even when you don’t have a reservation.

Overview

Location: Disney Springs
Hours:
lunch 11:30am – 3:30pm
dinner 5:00pm – 10:00pm
Dining Style: Table Service, Italian food
Atmosphere: Mysterious & edgy
My review of this experience: 5 out of 5 stars

Review from our Experience
After enjoying a movie in Disney Springs, we decided at the last minute to have lunch at Enzo’s Hideaway. They were happy to accommodate us, with no wait, even though we did not have a reservation. Reservations are recommended, but this restaurant is a good place to start if you do not.
I was immediately impressed with the theme of this restaurant as we rounded the corner into the hideaway. It is what you would imagine a speakeasy to look like starting with the slot in the entrance door through the brick entrance, complete with graffiti on the walls, and ending with the hidden tunnel in the back. Yes, it DOES have a hidden tunnel where you can imagine the rum runners making a quick exit from the police during prohibition. We had a wonderful history lesson with our children over this meal. 😉
About the food
– The Bread service was good with optional oil & I like to dip my bread in oil. The oil was very authentic and maybe a little bitter to my palate.
– The Classic Lasagna was cheesy & a very large portion. It was cooked well and the flavor was blended.
– The Branzino or Sea Bass, was tender & flaky with a slight lemon flavor. The grapes and green beans were complimentary to the fish. My husband did not care for the green beans because they were sauteed and remained a little crisp.
– The Roasted Chicken Saltimbacca was my favorite. This delicious chicken was cooked to perfection and well seasoned with a tender inside and slightly crispy on the outside skin. The vegetables with it were all perfect from the tender artichokes to the broccoli and a nice flavor was added with a few capers. The entire plate was a scrumptious medley of flavors that blended well.
– Chocolate Ice Cream was for dessert for my youngest & he loved the waffle chip that came with it the most.
– Of course I had to try the Canoli and it did not disappoint. I wanted to lick the plate after finishing it, but thought that might be frowned upon.

We finished every bit of food on our plates and since we just consumed two buckets of popcorn at the movie prior to this lunch, that tells you that the food must have been good.

The service seemed slightly European in nature. We had to ask every time we wanted more water and they only filled the one glass. Other than that the service was prompt and with a smile in true Disney fashion.

I see this place as the perfect guys getaway or bachelor get together before a wedding. It can also be a little on the romantic side and even fun for a girlfriend celebration. Any history buff will get a huge kick out of seeing this & if your kids are missing school they can tell the history teacher that they got to learn about a speakeasy when they were on vacation.

What I would change for next time
The only thing I might change for next time is not filling up on popcorn first so that I have room to try the Cannoli Sundae that looked so inviting for dessert.

Additional Information
To complete your visit to this restaurant, you have to find the ‘hidden tunnel’. If you are having trouble finding it, just make a trip to the restroom. 😉

What’s Coming To Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World

In 2019 so many exciting things are set to debut in Walt Disney World. The Skyliner, a gondola transportation system, 2 new resort additions, new nighttime shows in Epcot & Hollywood Studios.  The air is filled with energy, but I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land.

OPENING SEASON ANNOUNCED
Disneyland: summer 2019
Walt Disney World: late fall 2019
Height Requirement of 40″ for Rise of the Resistance attraction announced, details below….

newest video of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, released on 12/25/18

If you are visiting Hollywood Studios in the near future, you may not be able to get into the new land yet, but you can get a unique photopass photo in front of this impressive entrance and pick-up some limited edition merchandise while you are there.

Below is a list of facts, that I regularly keep updated, for one of the most anticipated park expansions in Disney history.

1. It Opens Next Year! – Disneyland: summer 2019; Walt Disney World: late fall 2019.

The current entrance walls into Star Wars: A Galaxy’s Edge

2. It’s Set On The Planet Batuu – At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, guests will visit Batuu, a remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but its prominence was bypassed by the rise of hyperspace travel. Now home to those who prefer to stay out of the mainstream, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe haven for those intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order.

3. The first of two attractions will be called Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run where guests will be behind the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy in one of three unique flight crew roles.  This attraction will put you in the cockpit of the famous ship.  You will have a critical mission to complete and according to Disney Parks Blog “how you perform on the mission holds even bigger stakes: perform with skill and you may earn extra galactic credits, while bringing the ship back banged up could put you on the list of a bounty hunter. End up on Harkos’s list and you may face a problem if you show up at the local Cantina.”

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Teaser Trailer

4. The second attraction is called: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Guests will board a Star Destroyer, built on a scale that has never been done before, will make guests feel like they’re inside a hangar bay in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Height requirement: 40 inches.
Announced on WDW News today, this is based on a sign that will be outside of the attraction.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
join us on an exhilarating mission to stop the First Order! This mission includes rapid motion, sudden stops, sharp turns, and a swift drop as you evade capture from the First Order.

WDW News today goes on to say,
Despite being in a trackless ride vehicle, guests will experience a drop towards the end of the attraction. The drop will reportedly simulate an escape pod blasting off, taking guests in their transports swiftly back down to the planet Batuu. We’re not talking about a drop the height of the Tower of Terror here, but at least most of the height of the fairly large show building that houses this ride

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Teaser Trailer

5. A Cantina Will Serve Up Blue Milk – Only one food and beverage item has been announced for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge so far and that’s the blue milk Luke Skywalker made famous in “Star Wars IV: A New Hope.”
NEW – Oga’s Cantina will be coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland & Walt Disney World and will include a colorful cast of characters to mingle with.  Oga’s Cantina will offer famous concoctions created with exotic ingredients using ‘otherworldly methods, served in unique vessels.  Libations for both kids & adults will be offers.  On top of the one-of-a-kind drinks, musical entertainment will be provided courtesy of RX-24, the former StarSpeeder 3000 pilot droid we first met in Star Tours.  He promises to be quirky and talkative and I’m sure he will be a central focus on the entertainment.

6. Expect To See Characters From A Galaxy Far, Far Away – Guests will also encounter many familiar faces inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, including BB-8, Chewbacca, members of the First Order and – among many others – Rex, the troublesome pilot you may remember from the previous version of a certain Disney attraction who takes on a new role in this land as the DJ at the Cantina.

7. The Land Will Feature Marketplaces & New Toys – Imagineers looked to the exotic markets of Istanbul and Marrakech for inspiration for the land’s marketplace, where guests can explore a rich collection of shops and merchant stalls. One stall will be overseen by a Toydarian, a creatures fans first encountered on Tatooine in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” Here, guests will be able to discover all kinds of fun toys straight out of the Star Wars galaxy.

8. Black Spire Outpost will be the name of the village in Galaxy’s Edge.  The largest settlement on the planet Batuu, Black Spire Outpost is an infamous stop for traders, adventurers, and smugglers traveling around the Outer Rim and Wild Space. Off the beaten path, this outpost has become a haven for the galaxy’s most colorful — and notorious — characters. Widely known for the petrified remains of its once towering ancient trees, the spires now stand guard across the river valleys and plains and have long captured the imagination of travelers to this planet. To the first settlers, these petrified spires became more than just landmarks; they became the heart of the outpost itself.  If you are as big of a Star Wars geek as I am, listen for the mention of “Black Spire” by L3-37 in Solo, while the droid, Lando, and the rest of the gang approach the Millennium Falcon.

9. The immersive Resort is now official: The location of the Star Wars Immersive Resort Planned for Walt Disney World Resort is now official, which has confirmed the resort we have all be talking about.  I hate to call this a resort as it appears that it will be more of an experience.  It is currently under development on the south side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, just east of World Drive. This location will allow the experience to be seamlessly connected to the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, enabling guests to fully immerse themselves in the story of Star Wars.

© Disney

Disney plans for this experience to stand out among all of their destinations around the globe. Families visiting this destination will board a starship that comes alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during their voyage through the galaxy – and every cabin window has views of space! Guests visiting the multi-day adventure will also be welcome to participate as a resident of the Galaxy by dressing in Star Wars-inspired attire.

10. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Merchandise Has Already Been Released – The first Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge merchandise, available at select locations at the Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resort, was released in December. The line currently consists of an assortment of men’s and women’s T-shirts, hats and more that feature faces and places familiar to Star Wars fans, including the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge logo, the Millennium Falcon, BB-8, DJ Rex and more.

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Merchandise can often be found in Hollywood Studios outside the entrance to Galaxy’s Edge

11. View A Portion Of The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Model Right Now – A portion of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge model is currently on display at the end of the Walt Disney Presents exhibit at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®.
Stay tuned to Disney Travel News for more updates about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World® Resorts.

this model is currently on display inside One Man’s Dream in Hollywood Studios

12. Paired with the land’s dynamic elements and options interactive integration with the Play Disney Parks app – guests are invited to become galactic travelers and live their own Star Wars stories in a galaxy far, far away.

13. Brand new music is being composed by legendary composer John Williams, exclusively for the new Star Wars land.  You can listen to the preview as well in this new video showing the construction progress…

Ale & Compass Restaurant Breakfast Review

Two years ago we enjoyed a wonderful buffet breakfast at this restaurant when it was Captain’s Grille.  It is one of the more cost effective options for the Epcot Candlelight Processional dining package during the holiday season. Now it has been re-imagined into a more quiet & luxurious feeling restaurant and the breakfast menu has changed from a full buffet to an entree and optional continental buffet.

Overview

Location: Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
Hours:
breakfast 7:30am – 11:00am
lunch 11:30am – 2:00pm
dinner 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Dining Style:  Table service with an optional continental buffet for breakfast
Dining Plan:  1 table service credit
Atmosphere: Warm, quite and inviting
* all information subject to change
My review of this experience:  3.5 out of 5 stars
Read through for details on why I have given this review for this experience

Menu

Since we had the Candlelight Processional Dining Package during this visit, we selected the Buffet option which included the continental breakfast buffet as well as our choice of one entree.

Review from my Experience
The Ale & Compass was our Candlelight Processional Dining package reservation.  The Candlelight Processional package allowed us to have guaranteed seats at the show with John Stamos as the narrator.  We have been wanting to try the Ale & Compass since the redesign and it was the most cost effective option as well.
Our reservation was for 10:55am and we checked-in at the podium 11:00am.  We were told that they were running a little behind & that they would text my cell phone when our table was ready.  We were okay with the wait because there are so many beautiful holiday decorations to look at in the resort.
I got a text around 11:35am & were promptly seated in a comfortable booth table & handed menus.  Our server did not arrive to acknowledge us for about 15 minutes & left after explaining our choices.  When he returned to take our order he told us to help ourselves to the continental buffet since it was included in our dining package.
When we visited the buffet, we found that they had limited amounts of food left.  The grapes were gone & there was only one cinnamon roll left.  Soon our food was delivered and we were told that the buffet was closing for lunch and we should go back one more time if we wanted to.  There was even less selection at that point.
– The Breakfast Flatbread was a very large portion, but I found it to be a little rich & oily in texture.  I may just be spoiled by the pizza at Via Napoli.
– The steak on the open-faced skirt steak sandwich was slightly tough; I prefer my steak to be very tender.
– The salted caramel-apple french toast was good comfort food and my family approved of the taste.
– The dark chocolate waffles were probably the favorite for our family topped with the rich cream and a side of bacon.

To their credit, when we mentioned that the cinnamon rolls were gone & they told us that they would not be making more, the manager overheard & did go to the Ale & Compass Market & bring some extra large cinnamon rolls from outside of the restaurant.  This is much more typical of the Disney service that we are spoiled by.

One of my favorite parts of the meal was my London Strand Earl Gray Twinings Tea.  I really enjoyed the beautiful flavors offered with my meal.  If purchased at the Twinings Tea store in the Epcot UK Pavilion, the cost of this tea is about $1.00 a bag.

I know that I may be slightly harsh in my review, but Disney has set the bar so high with their food that I now tend to expect excellence when my meal totals $180.00 for four adults.

What I would change for next time
If we take advantage of this low priced meal for the Candlelight Processional again, I will make a reservation for an earlier time.  I think that our experience could have been improved if we had not missed out on the delicious offerings at the continental buffet because we were seated so late.

Additional Information
I have to add that I did really like the redesigned bench seating at the back of the restaurant.  There is now a space behind the benches to set your park bags & other things.  This is very convenient & leaves more room on the benches to sit.
