NEW Star Wars Hyper-Reality Experience coming to Disneyland & Disney World

Attention Star Wars Fans!!!!!

Today Disney Parks Blog announced that The VOID (an entertainment company that combines the magic of illusions and advanced technology) will be bringing a groundbreaking, hyper-reality experience to Downtown Disney in Disneyland and Disney Springs in Walt Disney World.Star_Wars_Hyper-Reality_Experience-01Although no official dates or locations have been announced, this holiday season these immersive social experiences will take visitors to new worlds.

Disney parks blog states that, “Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire will transport you to a galaxy far, far away where you’ll be able to engage with friends, family and Star Wars characters through sight, sound, touch, smell, and motion. It’ll even allow environmental effects to be felt using Haptic feedback – melding the physical and digital worlds together. So, you don’t just see the Star Warsuniverse, you’re part of it at Disney Parks”.

If you have ever played a video game with a remote control that vibrates, then you are no stranger to Haptic feedback that brings you right into the action.

This one-of-a-kind experience is not to be missed by Star Wars fans of all ages and I will be thrilled to try this in person in just a matter of months.

Disney promised more announcments in the future, so stay tuned.

Epcot – One Adventure ends & a new one Begins in August

The Universe of Energy has been open since October of 1982.  During it’s 35 years in operation it educated people about the energy around our world.  We always thought of this lengthy attraction as a way to get out the the rain or cool of for a nap on a hot day.

Universe_of_energy_entrance

It has recently been announced at D23, that the Universe of Energy attraction will be closing on August 13th, 2017 and I can’t help but look forward to what has been announced to replace it.

The new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction will be inside the current Universe of Energy building.  Disney has not released an opening date for the attraction but Disney Parks Blog says “Epcot’s brand new E-ticket attraction will be based on the rockin’ and action-packed world of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and is the next step in how guests can encounter these characters at the Walt Disney World Resort. Epcot just may be the perfect place for a “Guardians”-inspired attraction”

Mission: SPACE has been under refurbishment recently and now we know why…

in just a few weeks, guests will be able to enjoy new adventures at Mission: SPACE – an updated Orange Mission (more intense training) and a brand-new Green Mission (Less intense experience).

Mission_Space_Entrance

Disney Parks Blog states “The updated Orange Mission will make an even more visually stunning trip to Mars, while the all-new Green adventure will allow guests to blast off for an orbital adventure around planet Earth.”

Which mission will you take the next time you visit this attraction?

One other announcement has been made for Epcot at D23 and that is the opening of a Ratatouille inspired attraction in the France Pavilion. Guests will be able to shrink to Remy’s size and scurry to safety in a dazzling chase across a kitchen with the sights, sounds and smells of Gusteau’s legendary Parisian restaurant.  According to Disney Parks blog this attraction will open sometime in 2021.

I look forward to bringing you updated information about these attractions as they open in the parks.  Stay tuned…

Disney Cruise Line Planning THREE new Ships!

Last year  Disney Cruise Line announced that it would build 2 new ships for their fleet.  These ships were scheduled to set sail in 2021 & 2023.  Well… recently they have told the public that they would be adding not two but three new ships, nearly doubling the size of their current fleet.  The additional ship is scheduled to set sail in 2022.  This means that Disney would have a new ship every year for 3 years in a row, beginning in 2021.

Disney_Magic_Castaway_Cay

“We decided two ships wouldn’t be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level with immersive Disney storytelling, world-class family entertainment, and imaginative innovations that are fantastically fun and uniquely Disney,” Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said.

The three new ships will be powered by clean-burning liquefied natural gas and be the same size – approximately 135,000 gross tons with about 1,250 guest staterooms planned – which is a little larger than the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy.  The ships’ names & design are still in development at this time.

Disney boasts that these new ships will “usher in the next generation of innovative cruise experiences designed especially for families that will transform the art-of-cruising and take guests on adventures in a way never dreamed of before.”

Personally having cruised on all 4 of Disney’s ships, I can say that the Disney Cruise Line experience is nothing short of luxurious.  I have to wonder with these new ships, where will Disney Cruise Line take us to next?  Will the original ships set sail in China, Australia or any number of new destinations.  Maybe one of the original ships will be a part of the Adventures by Disney itineraries in the future?  Will this possibly bring down the price of the Disney Cruise Line experience or just create more hype for this highly sought after cruise experience?  This all remains to be seen.

Stay tuned & I will be sure to pass along any new announcements from Disney Cruise Line.

My name is Melissa & I am a Disney addict; I’m also a travel agent.  I currently live in Florida with my family, which allows me to keep up with all of Disney’s every changing offerings from the parks to the ships, I always love to explore it all.  If you are dreaming of a Disney Cruise, you can now book through the end of 2018 and I can help you plan at no added cost to you.  That’s right, it costs the same to book through me or directly through Disney Cruise Line & you get personalized service & never a hold time on the phone.  It all starts with a free quote.  😉  Visit my website or contact me for more information.

Disney reveals Models for Star Wars Lands

Will it be worth all the hype?  My answer is “YES”!  If Disney brings Star Wars to life in the same way that they have with Pandora, Star Wars fans everywhere are sure to swoon when they enter the park and I am not excluded.

On Thursday night Disney presented a model of the lands & attractions that are currently under construction in Disneyland & Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.

Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts stated, “All along, we have said this will be game-changing, and through the model we can begin to see how truly epic these immersive new worlds will be.”

It seems that a lot of focus is around the Millennium Falcon and it has been known that one of the unnamed attractions will put visitors at the controls of the ship.  The second attractions puts guests amid at battle of the First Order and the Resistance.

Star_Wars_Land_09

“The setting will be a previously unseen planet, a trading outpost just before “Wild Space,” as quoted by the Orlando Sentinel.

The Star Wars geek in me can hardly wait for new announcements about this highly anticipated land.  You can bet that I will be there personally for the first few opening days in 2019.
