New Experiences announced for the Disney Fantasy

As if I needed another reason to take a Disney Cruise….  On May 17th, 2017 the Disney Fantasy will set sail with a full range of new experiences.  This special sailing on May 17th will be one of the very few 3-night sailings that the Disney Fantasy will offer in the near future.  On this special 3-night Bahamian sailing the ship will debut the following new additions to the ship…

Exciting new experiences designed for Guests of all ages are coming to the Disney Fantasy in May 2017.  From exploring the universes of Star Wars and Marvel, to shopping at unique new onboard venues, new highlights include:

Imaginative New Spaces for Kids in Disney’s Oceaneer Club

• The new Star Wars: Command Post takes kids on a journey where they will train with heroes of the Star Wars saga and help with missions against the First Order. Here, they will interact with holographic models at a one-of-a-kind Star Wars holotable that projects 3-D images of the Millennium Falcon, Death Star and other famous Star Wars ships, meet members of the Resistance and learn to channel the Force.
• In the all-new Marvel Super Hero Academy, kids will learn from real-life Super Heroes the heroic values of enlightenment, worthiness and loyalty. In this innovative space, kids can learn the ways of the mystic arts with Doctor Strange who is making first-ever appearances onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship.

Tasty Treats to Delight the Entire Family

• The new Sweet on You ice cream shop, themed after the iconic Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts, features hand-crafted gelato and ice-cream, specialty sundaes, homemade chocolates, truffles and a large selection of candy for purchase, all just steps from the family pool.

Luxury Shopping for Adults

• Disney Cruise Line will welcome the world’s premier jewelry and iconic American luxury brand, Tiffany & Co., with an exclusive store aboard the Disney Fantasy. Your Clients can indulge in timeless collections of jewelry and luxury accessories, including the effortlessly elegant Tiffany T collection and other glamorous pieces featuring renowned Tiffany & Co. diamonds.

These additions are part of an overall commitment by Disney Cruise Line to invest in our ships, helping to deliver incredible family vacation experiences for years to come. While making these enhancements to the Disney Fantasy, crews will also perform regularly scheduled and wide-ranging maintenance that keeps the fleet in tip-top shape.

The new enhancements will debut on Disney Fantasy sailings starting May 17, 2017 from Port Canaveral, FL. The first sailing will visit the Bahamas on a 3-night voyage. Beginning May 20, the ship will resume a regular sailing schedule that includes 7-night voyages alternating between the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Disneyland Tower of Terror Transformation Underway

For my Disneyland fans and travelers, I have an update on the Tower of Terror Transformation for you…

The huge transformation is now underway in Disney’s California Adventure Park.  The Collector’s Fortress is taking shape at the Tower Hotel.  Disney plans to create an all new adventure in this location and when finalized it will be, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!  This new attraction is scheduled to open in the summer of 2017

The picture above is of a model created by Walt Disney Imagineering and will guide the work currently taking place on the exterior of the attraction.  Every shade and detail that you see here will be reproduced in full size as Disney’s Dream Builders bring the Collector’s realm to life in California Adventure at Disneyland Resort.

The “warehouse, fortress-like power plant” (as described by Joe Rohde, Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering) is designed to be intimidating and imposing, but also shimmering and regal.  It will be the ideal location for the Collector to secure and show off his most prized acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy.

This epic new adventure will feature the characters from Disney’s 2014 film, Guardians of the Galaxy, along with the breathtaking free-fall sensation and all-new visual and audio effects.  The music will be inspired by the “Guardians of the Galaxy” film soundtrack.

We have all heard that Disney is working to create a sequel to the original Guardian of the Galaxy film.  It has been speculated that the new film might open in 2017.  Do you think that the opening of the film and the attraction might coincide?

Disney Parks Announces a new Lineup of Attractions at the D23 Expo

Disney announced a line-up of new attractions and entertainment coming to Walt Disney World® Resort and Disneyland®Resort during the D23 EXPO 2015.

Star Wars Enhancements & New Experiences at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts

• Star Tours® – The Adventures Continue – Later this year, Star Tours will include a new adventure featuring locations and characters from the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, giving Guests a new adventure in the Star Warsgalaxy.
• Star Wars Launch Bay – This interactive experience will take Guests into the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with special exhibits and peeks behind-the-scenes, including opportunities to visit with new and favorite Star Wars characters, special merchandise and food offerings. Star Wars Launch Bay will be located in the Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and in Tomorrowland® at Disneyland Park.
• Jedi Training Academy – A favorite of younger fans is reimagined with a new experience that includes new characters and a new villain to battle from the popular Disney XD series “Star Wars Rebels.”
• Season of the Force – This new seasonal event, beginning early 2016, brings new experiences to both coasts. InTomorrowland at Disneyland Park, your Clients can explore the Star Wars galaxy with special entertainment throughout the land, themed food locations and more. Guests also will be thrilled to climb aboard Hyperspace Mountain, a reimagining of the classic Space Mountain® attraction, in which Guests will join an X-wing Starfighter battle. AtDisney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests will close out weekend nights with a new fireworks spectacular set to the iconic score of the Star Wars movies.

Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida

The reimagining of Disney’s Hollywood Studios will take guests to infinity and beyond, allowing them to step into the worlds of their favorite films, starting with Toy Story Land. This new 11-acre land will transport guests into the adventurous outdoors of Andy’s backyard. Your Clients will think they’ve been shrunk to the size of Woody and Buzz as they are surrounded by oversized toys that Andy has assembled using his vivid imagination. Using toys like building blocks, plastic buckets and shovels, and game board pieces, Andy has designed the perfect setting for this land, which will include two new attractions and one expanded favorite.

• Family-friendly roller coaster – All on the back of Slinky Dog, this coaster will zip and zoom, plunge and coast as it takes guests on a fun, toy-filled adventure throughout the new land.
• Alien saucers attraction – The famous little green aliens from the movie will take Guests around for a spin in their very own flying saucers. The music, lighting and sound effects add to the flurry of action, while “The Claw” looms over.
• Toy Story Mania!® – Guests glide into the Toy Story Midway Games Play Set and take aim at 3D objects in a variety of fast-paced games, with an expansion that adds a third track to this popular attraction.

After Dark at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Pandora – The World of AVATAR

As part of the largest expansion in the park’s history, Disney’s Animal Kingdom® will immerse guests into the world of Pandora, and the entire park will transform after dark with new nighttime entertainment experiences, offering guests longer days than ever before to experience this one-of-a-kind theme park.

• “Rivers of Light” – Expected to open next spring, “Rivers of Light” will be an innovative experience unlike anything ever seen in　a Disney park, combining live performers, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery.
• Kilimanjaro Safaris® – This popular attraction will be extended for a new nighttime adventure next spring, where guests will travel through the African savanna amid the magically extended orange glow of the setting sun and discover two species new to the attraction: African wild dogs and hyenas.
• Pandora – The World of AVATAR – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Guests will journey into the magnificent world of Pandora at this new AVATAR-themed land – a world that includes floating mountains, a bioluminescent forest and the winged creatures known as Banshees, giving guests a transformational experience they will never forget.
• AVATAR Flight of Passage – This E-ticket attraction, the centerpiece of Pandora, allows guests to soar on a Banshee over a vast alien world. The spectacular flying experience will give guests a birds-eye view of the beauty and grandeur of the world of Pandora on an aerial rite of passage.

Soarin’ Around the World in Florida and California

Next year, Guests at Epcot® and Disney California Adventure® Park will journey to far-flung lands and fly above some of the world’s most unique natural landscapes and man-made wonders when the new Soarin’ Around the World makes its U.S. debut.

Jungle Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom Park

Jungle Cruise® fans can look forward to the brand-new Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen restaurant opening in Magic Kingdom® Park late 2015. At the Jungle Skipper Canteen, Guests will be able to experience “World Famous Jungle Cuisine” in one of several unique dining rooms – including a crew mess hall and a once-hidden secret meeting room of the famed Society of Explorers and Adventurers. The restaurant will also be staffed by Jungle Cruise Skippers.
