Will it be worth all the hype? My answer is “YES”! If Disney brings Star Wars to life in the same way that they have with Pandora, Star Wars fans everywhere are sure to swoon when they enter the park and I am not excluded.
On Thursday night Disney presented a model of the lands & attractions that are currently under construction in Disneyland & Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.
Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts stated, “All along, we have said this will be game-changing, and through the model we can begin to see how truly epic these immersive new worlds will be.”
It seems that a lot of focus is around the Millennium Falcon and it has been known that one of the unnamed attractions will put visitors at the controls of the ship. The second attractions puts guests amid at battle of the First Order and the Resistance.
“The setting will be a previously unseen planet, a trading outpost just before “Wild Space,” as quoted by the Orlando Sentinel.
The Star Wars geek in me can hardly wait for new announcements about this highly anticipated land. You can bet that I will be there personally for the first few opening days in 2019.
Thank you for geeking out with me a little bit over these photos & this announcement!!! What do you think? Will you be visiting the new Star Wars land in 2019? I would love to hear your opinion in the comments.

What to do while we sit & wait for the new Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! show to begin… We buy cupcakes of course. There are 2 special holiday cupcakes in Hollywood Studios right now each at the price of $5.59 These came from the ABC Commissary quick service restaurant.
The first treat an autumn harvest cupcake made of pumpkin spice cake and topped with maple cream frosting and granola. Sitting an the peak of this deliciousness is a white chocolate Mickey Mouse in perfect scarecrow attire.
The second cupcake is a dark chocolate Olaf cupcake filled & topped with marshmallow fluff. The Olaf head is made of smooth white chocolate and he smiles & waits to melt in your mouth.
Even though I am not a chocolate fan, my favorite of the 2 cupcakes was the Olaf Chocolate cake. My husband and son liked the pumpkin spice cake better so it’s obviously a matter of personal taste. Be sure to pick one of these up on your next trip to Hollywood Studios, you can even pay with a snack credit if you are on the dining plan. 😉

Here’s a taste of what to expect:

The Tree of Life Awakens – The park’s iconic Tree of Life undergoes an extraordinary “awakening.” Guests can expect to see animal spirits come to life throughout the evening by magical fireflies. Each scene appears to emanate from within the tree itself and reveals stories of wonder.
Kilimanjaro Safaris After Dark – Guests can enjoy Kilimanjaro Safaris in the evening hours, thanks to special lighting that will allow them to explore the savanna – and its inhabitants – well into the night.

Walt Disney Imagineering describes the interior as “a gallery you can dine in with artwork that is a direct result of travels to Africa, Asia and South America,” with tastes such as Berbere-Spiced Lamb Chop with Mustard Greens, Lentil Stew and Mint Chutney (Africa); Berkshire Pork Tenderloin with Huitlacoche Tamale, Hominy Succotash and Red Mole Sauce (South America), and Miso-glazed Black Cod with Forbidden Rice in Steamed Bok Choy with Turmeric Sauce (Asia).
Tiffins will also feature sustainable, organic wines and bio-dynamic viticulture, as well as handcrafted cocktails and beers.
